Kerry FCs manager reveal pulls in the views

Local football clubs have upped their game this summer when it comes to social media use, but Kerry appears to have topped the lot.

The Spar club has announced its new manager with a cracking ‘reveal’ video that has been watched over 18,000 times over the weekend.

There was nothing unusual about their Twitter announcement that long-standing manager Joe Andrew was stepping down last week after eight years at the helm, but fans were told to tune in at 10pm on Friday night for a major announcement.

And it didn’t disappoint with a professionally made 37-second video that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Sky Sports.

“Alex Cookson spent the majority of last season as reserve team manager but will make the step up to the first team for the 18/19 season,” the club said. “What Alex may lack in experience he more than makes up for in enthusiasm, determination and love for the game.”

The club had previously posted that “I’m sure I speak for everyone associated with Kerry FC when I say a massive thank-you” to previously manager, Andrew.
