Caersws and Berriew’s coffers will be boosted to the tune of £1,000 each after they topped the fair play tables for their respective leagues.

Despite a disappointing season, Caersws topped the Huws Gray Alliance version with four red cards and 33 cautions, while Berriew picked up their second award in three years for the Spar One after just 14 cautions all season.

The clubs will receive £1,000 each towards equipment and ground facilities.

The Fair Play Awards is an initiative run by the FAW to promote the message of Fair Play throughout all of Welsh football. The main aim of the Fair Play code is to encourage good behaviour and raise awareness of the ‘Fair Play’ message.

Ian Fisher, the FAW’s Disciplinary Manager, said: “The FAW Fair Play Award is a great way for the FAW to reward the clubs in the Directly Affiliated Leagues who have the best disciplinary record for on-field offences in their division.”
