Graham Evans has stepped aside at Caersws Football Club, opening the way for former captain and striker Mark Griffiths to become manager.
Evans has called it a day after five years in charge following a challenging season that saw them win the Central Wales Cup, but finish third from bottom of the Huws Gray Alliance.
He will take on a new role as General Manager, while his No 2, Dylan McPhee, has left the club for pastures new.
The club said in a statement that Evans could not commit to the daily rigours of management due to increased work and personal commitments, but would take up his new role “driving the club forward in its next chapter”.
Griffiths has been tasked with taking the club back up and will reveal his management team soon.
“We have reacted swiftly and believe Mark is the right person for the difficult challenge ahead,” said the statement.
The club’s full statement is available on its official Twitter page.
