Caersws win Central Wales Cup

Caersws rescued a disappointing season by winning a dramatic Central Wales FA Cup Final 4-3 at Victoria Avenue, Llanidloes tonight.

Chris Cathral put Guilsfield ahead on 53 minutes only to see Richard Davies level the scores on 64 minutes and two minutes later the Bluebirds were ahead at 2-1 through Elliot Jones. Davies then grabbed his second to make it 3-1 and it was soon 4-1 through Lance Jones.

In the closing minutes Guilsfield hit back through an Asa Hamilton penalty and a Robbie James goal but Caersws held on for the victory.

There was a massive 35 points and nine places between the two clubs in the final Huws Gray Alliance League table. But Caersws tured the form book inside out after nothing had separated them at half time.
