Newtown sign off with eight-goal thriller

28/04/2018 @ 06:37

Newtown have ended their decent JD Welsh Premier season with a thriller on the seaside.

The Robins lost 5-3 to Aberystwyth Town, who defeated Newtown in the semi-final of the Welsh Cup earlier this month, but they can look back on a season that saw them finish eighth.

Newtown had pulled back from 2-0 down to take a 3-2 lead on the hour through Ethan Jones, Nick Rushton and Ryan Kershaw, but the Seasiders stages a strong last 15 to secure the points.

Meanwhile, there’s a host of other leagues’ action continuing today with Caersws heading to Holyhead Hotspur and Llanidloes entertain Tywyn Bryncrug.
