Bishop’s Castle remain in top spot in the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League after the latest weekend action, but Guilsfield Reserves are ready to pounce on any slip-up.

Castle reclaimed top spot on Saturday with a 5-1 win at Llanfyllin, less than 24 hours after Guilsfield Reserves had leapfrogged them at the top with a 3-1 win at Llanfair Reserves.

Four Crosses had their match at Maesyrhandir postponed, but they too remain contenders with games in hand. In the league’s other match, Waterloo Rovers edged out rivals Trewern 1-0.

In Mitsubishi Two, Forden took one step closer to becoming The Invincibles with a 10-0 trouncing of Carno Reserves. The victory takes them to 16 wins from 16 league matches, and within four points of leaders Llangedwyn, but with four games in hand.
