Newtown give home fans a treat

Newtown gave their home fans plenty to cheer about after signing off at Latham Park for the season with a comfortable win in the JD Welsh Premier.

Two second half goals in seven minutes from Ethan Jones, and a last minute strike from Kieran Mills-Evans gave them a comfortable 3-0 win over relegated Prestatyn. With just one away match to come, The Robins can be pleased with their campaign this season.

In the Huws Gray Alliance, two goals from Asa Hamilton weren’t enough for Guilsfield as they were held 2-2 by Denbigh Town, ending their hopes of a third placed finish. A goal in each half saw Caersws lose 2-0 at home to Holywell.

Llanrhaeadr took a giant step closer to the Spar Mid Wales title with a 5-1 win over Kerry. The victory, along with leaders Welshpool Town being held at home, has all but handed the title to the villagers who have plenty of games in hand still to play.
