Newtown had a day to forget after going down to a thumping 61-0 defeat at the hands of rampaging Bala.
It was a frustrating day for the club after the second string Green Army had their match cancelled with Llanidloes, and the firsts will wish they had enjoyed a day off as well.
Meanwhile, Llanidloes stepped up their bid to win the Division Two (north) title by crushing Welshpool in a bad tempered match.
Struggling Welshpool were 21-0 down at the turn and lost key backs to injury. With Llanidloes in unforgiving mood, the match ended with a 78-0 verdict to the visitors.
Meanwhile, on a bright note for Newtown, the Youths defeated a highly rated Oswestry School side 39-21.
