Bluebirds go down to strugglers

Technogroup Welshpool can start preparing for life in the Mid Wales League next season after suffering a defeat to Penrhyncoch under the Maesydre lights last night (Friday).
In what proved to be a night of shocks that could shape the destinies of several clubs next season, Town’s 2-1 home defeat confirmed what the side has been facing since losing points for administration failings earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, it was a bad night for Guilsfield who didn’t even kick a ball. Struggling Rhayader dug deep to beat Caersws 3-0 and Ruthin pinched a 1-0 win at Flint to suck Guilsfield back into the relegation pack. Up to four could face the drop this season depending on which clubs are relegated from the Welsh Premier and how many come up from the feeder leagues below.
There was drama too in the Spar Mid Wales League where runaway leaders Berriew slipped up to a shock 2-2 draw at home to Bow Street.
That has enabled Llanidloes to close the gap after they edged past Dolgellau 1-0 to keep their title chase alive. The students of Aberystwyth beat Presteigne.
