Newtown look for points

08/12/2017 @ 08:06

Newtown haven’t beaten high flying Cardiff Met since they won promotion to the Welsh Premier League but manager Chris Hughes thinks they can on Saturday.

Hughes was encouraged by his sides response in the JD Welsh Cup last week when beating Guilsfield 2-0, and has called for more of the same.

He said: "It is a tough one for us and we will need to perform to our maximum to get a result, but we're really looking forward to it. After Aber the lads bounced back last week and we want them to do that again this week.

Ryan Kershaw is still out for the Robins with a broken hand, and a late fitness check will be taken on Tom Goodwin but Jamie Price and Jay Denny are back in contention.

There’s no let-up for Caersws manager Graham Evans as he searched to find the winning formula. Caernarfon, who have an eye on the Huws Gray Alliance title, will be the visitors on Saturday.
