Cancelled match will boost title tilt

The clash that the Spar Division One has been waiting for just became even more enticing!

 

Title favourites Berriew and Llanrhaeadr meet next Tuesday, March 29, in a match that could dictate who will be crowned champions and secure promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance.

 

But Llanrhaeadr voiced concern last week after league chiefs also pencilled them in to play two days earlier against Aberystwyth University, stating that Berriew would have an unfair advantage having played two nights earlier and receiving more rest time.

 

But this morning, Llanrhaeadr’s concerns appear to have been heard.

 

League secretary Phil Woosnam said: “At the request of the clubs, this match will now take place when the college returns at the beginning of May.”

 

Meanwhile, another big clash has also been cancelled. Llanidloes were due to play Carno next week (Wednesday) but will now be playing Guilsfield in the Central Wales Cup instead.
