Can Robins make it 3-in-a-row?

Newtown manager Chris Hughes has called for more of the same tonight (Friday) as his side look to make it three wins in a row in a Welsh Premier League local derby at Aberystwyth.

Newtown have picked up six points from their last two games to lift them out of the relegation zone and a win tonight would drag the Robins closer to the top six than.

And Hughes wants to see more of the same from the Robins, who have turned a corner in recent weeks.

Writing on the club’s website he said: "I think I've been saying it for a few weeks, the performances have been quite good but we haven't been able to get the points. Now we have a couple of wins and we want to keep the momentum going.

"Things have gone for us in the recent weeks which is pleasing, because it hasn't prior to that. We're playing well and we want that to continue.

"It will be a good game, under the lights at Aber, an evening derby match and there will be a big crowd in. It is going to be a different test than previous weeks, but we've prepared well and we're looking forward to it."

Just up the road at Caersws manager Graham Evans has finally lost patience with his struggling Huws Gray Alliance side and made three new signings ahead of the trip to Denbigh.

Evans has brought back goalkeeper Dave Jones from Berriew along with Nefen Savage from Llanidloes and Luke Roughley from Brecon in a bid to break clear of the three relegation places. Josh Hattrick has moved to Llanidloes.
