Jones double earns a vital point

Former AFC Liverpool striker Steve Jones rescued a precious point as Newtown twice came from behind at Aberystwyth last night.
Rormer Robin, Ricky Evans had given the Seasiders the lead from the penalty spot, after Paul Keddle was adjudged to have pulled back Lewis Codling, who later saw a shot hit the crossbar.
Jones beat the offside trap to equalise with a low shot before Ashley Stott quickly restored the home lead with a simple chance after a mix-up in the Robins' defence.
But, with six minutes remaining, Jones fired straight through the wall from a free-kick to level again.
The point lifted the Robins one point clear of bottom club Haverfordwest County, and level with Bala Town, while the Seasiders are three points adrift of the automatic Europa League play-off spot.
Newtown: D.Roberts, L.Hartshorn, P.Keddle, Z.Evans(J.Price), M.Jackson, D.Blain(C.Whitfield), S.Bailey(G.Partridge), S.Jones, R.Millington, A.Worton, S.Sutton
