Rushton "nicks" a point

Nick Rushton was the hero as he nicked a late point to get the Robins off the mark in the JD Welsh Premier League with a 1-1 draw against Cefn Druids.

Druids had taken a first half lead from the spot through Ashley Ruane, after the Robins had squandered early chances. 

Newtown forced the issue in the second period, and late on Tom Goodwin and Jamie Reed saw two guilt edged chances pass them by to win the game. 

The Welsh Cup saw wins for Kerry and Abermule but Montgomery went down 6-0 at Llansantffraid.

In the Spar Mid Wales League, Llanidloes won 2-1 at Llanrhaeadr, Carno drew 2-2 at Knighton while Dyffryn Banw beat Penybont 4-1 and Llanfair beat Aberaeron 3-2.
