The course at Lakeside is in excellent condition and this is shown in the recent results.
On the 30th of July the Seniors championship was held and Bob Weaver (19) came out on top with an excellent 43 points, in second was Steve Cartwright (28) with 39 who narrowly beat Philip Edwards (24) on the countback also on 39.
August saw lakeside host its first ever Open week. On Thursday the 3rd the seniors open was held with Brian Davies (17) of Mile End golf club winning with 36pts, from Peter Coleby (9) in second with 35 and John Stansfield (23) in third with 33.
On Friday the Ladies open was held with Denise Hazelwood (12) triumphing on her comeback to golf with 34 points. In close second was Helen Lloyd-Jones (11) from Mold golf club with 33 points and Jo Lawson (16) in third with 31.
Saturday saw the men's completion with Lakesides Steve Rushton come out on top with 39 points from Leon Duvalier in second with 37 and Alan Davies in third with 36 points.
The final open of the week was the highly competitive team event with the team of Dudley Kater, Doug Anderson, Mick Higgins and Andy Finch winning with an excellent team round of 53. In second were George Davies, Joe Davies, Marius Van Lill and Nigel Price with 54 and third were Justine Nicoll, Tom Williams, Scott Theobald and Richard Wyatt with 56.
Finally this weeks Summer league was won by Huw Morgan with 20 points from Andy Finch in second with 19 just beating Andy Wyatt into third on the countback also on 19.
