Newtown suffered a really bad start to the JD Sports Welsh Premier League programme with a 3-0 defeat at Bala,tonight.
Chris Venables and Evan Horwood broke the deadlock for Bala early in the second half. Mike Hayes made it 3-0
There was also a night to forget for reigning champions The New Saints, who crashed to a 5-2 defeat at Nantporth against a new-look Bangor City side while Gap Connahs Quay gave noticce of their intentions by winning 4-0 at Prestatyn.
