Newtown are back in training ahead of the Welsh Premier League season and manager Chris Hughes has promised more new signings are on the way.

Seven weeks after the play-offs the Robins were back at Latham Park on Saturday with three newcomers on show in the form of defender Sam Litchfield, midfielder James Murphy and new forward Jamie Reed.

"We will have a few more to follow,” said Hughes. “Obviously it is well publicised the people who have left, and it was disappointing. But we've spoken with the lads today, it is about what we do from now.

"We will be working hard over the next seven weeks to make sure come the Bala game we are ready to go."

Four new faces have now come through the door at Latham Park, and the Robins aren't finished there. Hughes is hoping to add two or three more over the next few weeks, to bolster his squad ahead of the season opener.

He added: "I think when you're the manager of Newtown finances dictate the recruitment. I know I bang on about it but we can't compete with others, so we have to be a bit different.”
