It’s been a good start to the Newtown Premier League of Darts.

League debutant Aled Goode got off to a flying start beating Andy Waters by four legs to one and hitting three one 180s on the night.

A pleasing start to the Premier League by another debutant, Ben Bevan, who enjoyed a 4-2 Win over Robin Shingler and a draw against Paul Bordewey.

Former Welsh International Neil Astley was in scintillating form as he defeated Ben Jerman by four legs to nil and hitting a 27 average in the process.

Reigning champion Mitch Butler began his defence but was held to a 3-3 draw by Kacey Jones who hit the evenings highest checkout of 122.

The first Lady darts player to enter the Premier League Katie Bellerby done her self proud by narrowly losing 4 legs to 2 to Sean Barnett and four legs to one to Chris Hurds.

Wins for Steve Degville, Gary Jones and Gareth Ashley were also achieved on the league’s first night, but its Neil Astley who tops the league with two wins from two games.
