Caersws push leaders all the way

Caersws are finding the going tough of late in the Huws Gray Alliance and went down 2-1 at home after pushing top of the table Connahs Quay all the way.

The North Walians have their eyes firmly on promotion to the Welsh Premier League but looked in trouble at the Recration Ground when the Bluebirds took a 17 minute lead through newcomer Matty Davies. But Connahs Quay proved too strong, hitting back to win with goals from Ben Olsen on 72 minutes and a winner from the league's leading scorer Gary O'Toole on 78 minutes.

Technogroup Welshpool are a week nearer to relegation after crashing 3-0 thanks to a mad four minute spell.

Llangefni netted three times in four minutes in the first half to seal an unlikely victory over Chris Herbert's side to leave Pool nine points adrift and 19 points from relegation safety - and they have played two more games than the two sides above them.

Pool more than matched Llangefni but went behind on 30 minuts to a Dave Thomas goal, conceded again on 32 minutes to Marc Evans and incredibly went 3-0 behind on 34 to Lee Craven.

Guilsfield earned a valuable home point with a 1-1 draw against Llandudno, coming from behind again. Iwan Williams had given the Seasiders a 60th minute lead but assistant manager Chris Roberts notched an equaliser 10 minutes later with a cracking solo strike.

Berriew are striding clear at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League after coming home from Builth Wells with a 3-0 victory while nearest rivals Llanrhaeadr were taking a day off on Central Wales Cup duty. Christian Webster, Rhydian Morris and an Adam Williams wonder goal did the damage.

There was also a valuable victory for Dyffryn Banw as they won a seven goal thriller 4-3 against Bow Street. Llansantffraid Village are still in touch after coming from two goals behind to thrash Newbridge 7-3, while Llanidloes won 2-0 at Penparccau.

In the Division Two Cup, Abermule thumped Llandrindod 6-2 and Kerry crashed 4-2 at Llanfair.
