Newtown go to Rhyl on Saturday , looking to jump out of the Dafabet Welsh Premier League places.
A win will see the Robins go above their North Wales rivals on goal difference and could even see Newtown jump up to eighth place.
Manager Chris Hughes felt his side did not deserve to lose so emphatically last Saturday when they were dumped out of the JD Welsh Cup 3-0 at home by The New Saints. Hughes was encouraged by his side’s showing and is calling for more of the same.
The big local derby of the day in the Huws Gray Alliance League sees Caersws travelling to Llanfair. It’s unlikely there will be much Christmas spirit on offer in this derby clash at The Mount Field with both sides keen to secure the points.
