Striker secures for Berriew switch

Berriew are believed to have signed Langford last night (Wednesday) in a bid to to add some numbers to the squad which has been thin on options since the enforced winter break.

The former Montgomery striker scored his first goal for Abermule in last Saturday’s 4-2 defeat following a frustrating season which saw him dismissed on debut and struggle to command a regular start.

But he now hopes to focus on a fresh challenge at Neil Pryce’s high flyers.

“I enjoyed my time at Abermule as they are a great bunch of lads and I wish them well,” said Langford. “But Berriew are ambitious and struggling with injuries so when your home club offers you the chance you’re not going to turn it down! I just hope I can help them win promotion.”

Meanwhile, Llanidloes continued their impressive form with a 3-0 verdict over Llansantffraid Village last night in Division One. Matthew Savage and Rhys Jones proved the difference in the first half with Jones adding a stylish free-kick in the second period to complete the victory.

However, former Caersws and Newtown defender Andrew Thomas has left Llanidloes for Carno.
