The big football news this morning is that Bishops Castle are back in business.
Castle were denied entry to the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League by the FA of Wales because of their place over the English border and have been a club in limbo. But last night were told they had won their appeal after also treating legal action.
"I've just learned by e-mail that we have now received clearance to take our place in the Montgomeryshire Amateur Football League," said a club spokesman. "It's taken months but finally we can play football."
The Shropshire side will be playing catch-up with the season well underway and the highlight of yesterday's fixtures was Berriew Reserves' 10-1 win over Llanfechain in the Llansantffraid Village Cup - less than 24 hours after their senior aide hit 10 against Llandrindod in the Spar Mid Wales League.
