Caersws, Llani through in Cup

Berriew got an early taste of what life may be like in the Huws Gray Alliance next season but came up short at Caersws last night (Wednesday).

Two goals in the last 15 minutes saw Mike Evans’s side through with a 3-1 win after Mark Probert had earlier kept Berriew in the game with an equaliser.

But the Bluebirds will now face Penrhyncoch thanks to goals from Scott Williams, Mattie Davies and a last minute strike from Mark Griffiths.

In the night’s other tie, Llanidloes overturned Alliance opposition with a healthy 4-0 win over struggling Rhayader. They now face Guilsfield.
