The battle at the top of the Montgomeryshire Amatuer League Division One fizzled out with 0-0 draw between Caersws Reserves and Llanidloes Reserves.

But while the top two struggled to find a breakthrough, Guilsfield Reserves recorded their third league win on the bounce after Richard Lewis’s cross-cum-shot clinched a 3-2 victory at Bettws. Gareth Bean scored twice for the hosts but Guilsfield picked up three points with Sam Griffiths and a Robbie Spragg screamer joining Lewis on the scoresheet.

In the battle of the basement, Berriew Reserves won 3-2 at Churchstoke thanks to goals from Tristan Jackson, Sam Andrews and Sam Jones. Luke Mellor bagged a brace for Churchstoke.

In the Llanidloes Town League Cup round two, Carno Reserves beat Morda Reserves 2-1 thanks to an Ioan Hunphreys goal and an own goal. Llangedwyn won 4-2 at Trefonen with goals from James Wigley, Darren Edwards, Josh Edwards and Matt Williams.
