Chance To Train As Football Coach

14/02/2011 @ 07:30
Coaches are being sought to train on the Football Association of Wales C Licence course at Newtown.

Plans are already in place for Newtown FC's academy set up for next season, with April being targeted as the start of the programme which will see posters being placed in all the High Schools in Mid and North Powys, as well as most of the junior schools in the area.

The prospective team leaders are in the process of being identified and the academy is looking at funding up to six places on an FAW ā€œCā€ Licence course for coaches with the emphasis on local junior coaches.

The FAW require 16 applications for the course to set one up in Newtown, and already Newtown Whitestars have four places booked. If a further six applicants can be found from all the Junior football in this area, then we will be able to host a course for the first time ever, rather than travel to Wrexham or Aberystwyth eight times in a year for the only courses on offer at present.

If you know anyone who is interested in developing their coaching skills and progressing up the coaching ladder, then contact Newtown Football Club Secretary, Owen Durbridge.
