Former Newtown youngster Callum Wright is poised to make his debut for Stafford Rangers in tomorrow's Blue Square North basement battle with Redditch United at Marston Road.
The 21-year-old has joined the club on non-contract terms after ending his spell in the Huws Gray Alliance with Welshpool.
"Callum has trained with us a couple of times and looks composed," says Rangers' manager Matt Elliott.
"He can pick a pass, but will also bring some energy into the midfield when he has found his match fitness."
A former Shrewsbury Town youth team midfielder, Wright broke into the Welsh Premier ranks with Newtown in season 2007/8 and hit four goals from 9 (+8) appearances.
But the 21-year-old did not form part of new manager Andy Cale's plans and left to join the Lilywhites last autumn.
Rangers' squad includes two other ex-Welsh Premier players in former TNS and Rhyl stalwart Martyn Naylor and Marco Adaggio, who played in a brief spell for Bangor City.
