Caersws are out of the Welsh Cup, beaten 3-0 by Welsh Premier League side Port Talbot and a former player had a hand in the defeat.

Port Talbot eased past Caersws at the GenQuip Stadium with first-half goals from Luke Bowen, ex-Bluebird Lloyd Grist and Liam McCreesh, who was sent-off two minutes from time.

Welshpool suffered another home defeat but gave table topping Gap Connahs Quay a real scare, before going down 3-2. Mark McGregor and James Macintosh(2) scored for Quay while Nathan Mapletoft and Gary Pinch netted for Pool.

Pool led 2-1 with 12 minutes to go but Quay displayed their title crdentials by storming back with two goals to open up a five point gap at the top of the league.

Guilsfield's showdown with Mid Wales rivals Rhayader was called off when a power cut hit the village leaving the changing rooms without light or water.

Berriew underlined their ambitions to become Spar Mid Wales League champions with a crushing 5-2 win against Llanidloes but title challengers Llanrhaeadr are still breathing down their necks, three points behind with three games in hand. Llanrhaeadr won convincingly 4-0 at Presteigne.

Waterloo travelled to the coast to tackle Tywyn/Bryncrug and came home with a point in a 2-2 draw

And third placed Llansantffraid are also still in the hunt after winning 2-0 at home to Dolgellau at a muddy Recreation Ground. Dyffryn Banw's woes continued as they crashed 4-1 at Newbridge.

Clive Mac's men are now just two points behind with three games in hand and are firmly focused on promotion.
