The first phase of an exclusive 62 family home development at Kerry, near Newtown, has begun as part of significant investment in the area by a local company.

The Dolforgan View development will bring a range of one, two, three and four bedroom homes to the village, providing much-needed quality homes in the area, according to Mid Wales and Shropshire estate agents, Morris, Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd who are marketing it.

WYRO Developments Ltd, a joint venture between local companies Wynnstay Group Plc and SJR Group, is constructing the homes.

“This is an important development in north Powys, providing much needed new quality homes in the area,” said Andrew Turner, a partner at MMP/NL who are marketing and selling the properties.

“Kerry is an idyllic village with a strong community and a range of services, from the village shop, two pubs, primary school and more. It’s ideally situated close to Newtown as well as Welshpool and into neighbouring Shropshire.

“We have already received a lot of interest from potential house-buyers keen to buy off plan before we’ve even launched the development, so we suspect there will be high demand for the range of home being constructed in the village.”

WYRO Developments Ltd will be using timber frames from local company Lowfield Timber Frames, part of the SJR Group.

“It’s a combination of skills and experience that ensures we can deliver quality homes with concern for the community which they are part of,” said Arwyn Davies of WYRO Developments Ltd.

The first phase of the development will include three two-bedroom Acer homes, eight Cherry three-bedroom homes, five Maple three-bedroom homes and six two-bedroom homes.

The rest of the development will consist of two more phases to complete the 62-property development.

The properties will include UPVC double glazing, a choice of kitchens and tiles, central heating, energy efficient and will come with a 10-year LABC New Home Warranty.

Mr Turner said anyone wanting to find out more about the development can visit www.morrismarshall.co.uk, email newtown@morrismarshall.co.uk or telephone 01686 626160.
