A man suffered minor injuries after his lorry ended up in a river in Llanerfyl today.
The incident involving an unladen truck shortly before 12-30pm and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service rescued the driver and he was treated at the scene by paramedics.
There were 28 firefighters at the scene trying to contain fuel leaking from the vehicle.
Three fire engines from Llanfair Caereinion, Llanfyllin and Llanidloes, and a boat from Llanidloes, were called to the emergency.
Fire crews rescued the truck driver, but he was trapped for a period. A fire service spokesman said it was understood the man was not seriously injured.
