It’s all aboard for Newtown Musical Theatre Company’s latest production - HMS Pinafore - which kicks off at Hafren in Newtown tonight (Thursday).

Several NMTC stalwarts will once again be treading the boards in what the groups calls a “rip roaring comical farce set on the high seas.”

Performances take place at 7.30pm tonight and tomorrow (Friday) and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.

These include ever reliable Mike Clarke who will portray Sir Joseph Porter, Andrew Bond as the develish Dick Deadeye, the versatile Alex Oakley will play Captain Corcoran with the irreplaceable Les Skilton playing the part of Boatwain on stage.

They will be joined on stage by seasoned performers Josephine Bowen, who funnily enough will be playing the part of Josephine, Emma Breese will take on the role of Buttercup, the evergreen Chris Clarke will play Hebe, talented Dave Robinson will portray Carpenter and Lex Urry will play the part of Ralph Rackshaw in his first major principle role for the company.

As well as a live orchestra conducted by Paul Wardell, they will be joined on stage by a strong supporting cast and chorus.

Tickets are still available now from The Hafren, from their website www.thehafren.co.uk or by phoning the box office on 01686 625007.
