Students at Newtown NPTC Group college campus have been helping raise money for cancer care.

The campus held a coffee morning as part of the Macmillan Cancer Suppor’s World’s Largest Coffee Morning event.

Level 3 Health and Social Care students filled the foyer at the Newtown campus with cake-seeking staff and students.

Over £471 was raised.

General Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Wales, Susan Morris, said:
“Every pound raised by those taking part in events like the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will help us fund our vital services and help people affected by cancer to cope with the impact of their diagnosis.”

Lecturer Sarah Eskins said: “There were lots of lovely prizes. The top prizes were won by Megan Davies, a student from Health and Social Care, who won one of the large hampers.

“The other hamper went to Ryan Groves from the Sports course and June Owen from Student Services won the Macmillan decorated cake.”
