Town temperature could hit 30c this week

Residents are being urged to keep an eye out on elderly and vulnerable neighbours, or those with health issues, as temperatures are set to rise, possibly hitting 30˙c this week.

Today's temperature is set to hit at least 26˚c but tonight and tomorrow it could become more humid with some rain expected.

Health bosses say the elderly and people, including children, with underlying health issues, such as asthma or breathing difficulties, should take care with the soaring temperatures which could last for up to two weeks.

Local tourism destinations are expecting a surge of interest this weekend with a forecast of sun and a clear sky this weekend, attracting local visitors and holidaymakers into the region.
