Man admits sex charges, but denies rape

A Montgomery man admitted three charges of inciting a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity when he appeared in Mold Crown Court. 

But the 24-year-old has denied three alternative charges of rape.

The case against defendant Kirk Mark Tranchard, of Tanygraig, Montgomery, who also admitted five charges of sexual activity with the girl when she was older, was adjourned.

The defendant was ordered to register with the police as a sex offender in the meantime.

The adjournment is to give the prosecution time to decide whether to accept his pleas, after consulting with the complainant. If the pleas are accepted a pre-sentence report will be prepared.

Tranchard will appear back at the court on a date to be fixed.
