Proving it’s girl power were Girlguides, Brownies and Rainbows from Newtown and throughout Montgomeryshire who pulled an aircraft for charity.
The Montgomeryshire units met up at the Mid Wales Airport near Welshpool last Sunday to take part in a plane pull to raise money for Girlguiding Cymru and the Wales Air Ambulance.
The plane weighed in at over half a ton but that didn’t put the young fundraisers, aged 5 years and upwards, off.
They worked in teams to pull the plane down the taxi runway.
Welsh Air Ambulance team were on hand and members of the public to cheer all the teams on and during the day, all attending had a chance to see the Welsh Air Ambulance up close and have photos with the Welsh Air Ambulance crew.
A Girlguiding Cymru spokesperson said: “Pulling the plane was amazing. It really felt like we were a strong team and we could do anything.
“The plane was so big but we did it, and I loved seeing Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, working together.”
Felicity Ladbrook, Chief Commissioner for Girlguiding Cymru, said: “Seeing the girls fundraising for Girlguiding Wales and the Wales Air Ambulance by pulling a plane was fantastic.
“It really proves that girls can do anything they want to.”
