A lorry struck Dolfor Road railway bridge this morning, forcing the A483 road and Cambrian railway line to be closed for just over an hour.
The DAF articulated lorry hit the bridge just off Llanidloes Road at around 6.15am.
Police closed the road and services along the Cambrian Railway were suspended temporarily before engineers from Network Rail were called in to ensure the bridge had not been damaged.
Police said nobody was injured during the incident and the road was re-opened at 7.15am.
