Dealership raises money for Wales Air Ambulance

Newtown car dealership Greenhous Ford has raised £550 for Wales Air Ambulance through a unique airbrush event.

They decided to raise money after sales executive, Lee Morgan, was involved in a serious motorcycle incident.

He said: “I recently got back into work after recovering for two years and while I didn’t receive the attention of Wales Air Ambulance, a close friend did.”

Mr Morgan used his artistic airbrush skills to organise an event at the dealership in Pool Road in February.

“Fellow artist Sammy Cave and I prepared and painted selected scenes on Ford Fiesta MK7 bonnets.

“The bonnet I painted has a Paul Walker Tribute theme, who was an actor in the “Fast and Furious” films who died in a car crash. This was placed on eBay to raise funds for the charity.”

Over £550 was raised as a result of the auction, and Lee recently presented the cheque to the charity at their Welshpool airbase.

Wales Air Ambulance Corporate Manager Anna Evans said: “I’m delighted to receive this cheque from Lee and Greenhous Ford.

“It’s such a unique and interesting way to raise money. An enormous amount of time has been put into the design and airbrushing, and Lee is very talented.

“The money raised will help us continue to attend lifesaving missions across Wales. It costs us over £6 million each year to fund our service, and we rely entirely on donations to raise this amount.”
