Police still searching for Nationwide raiders

Police are still on the trail of armed raiders who stole a ‘large’ amount of cash from the Nationwide in Newtown before Christmas.

The raid happened at around 10pm on December 20 when security staff delivered cash to the Building Society in the town centre and masked men smashed in the door, attacked staff before fleeing with boxes of cash.

A police spokesperson said: “We have no further information to share at this time but we urge anyone with information to come forward by contacting Newtown Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
