Get deep into space from Newtown

23/02/2015 @ 10:05

Forget the 100 people shortlisted last week to go to Mars, you can enjoy space from Newtown with Newtown Astronomy Society and it's latest meeting which will feature Sue Walker, an associate lecturer at the Open University.

Sue will be taking members through a presentation about Quasars, explaining what they are, where they are and how they can be detected.

The talk will take place on Saturday, 14th March at 7pm at Pen Dinas.

"With a good mix of fact, theory and illustrations of the joys or otherwise of doing astronomical research, this will be a truly enlightening evening," said Brandon Lane of the society.

The evening will also include discussions about what's on in the astronomy world, coffee and biscuits and, weather permitting, some stargazing.

The venue is located near the Hafren entertainment venue. Turn into Hafren and then first right and it's the first bungalow on the left.
