Specialist equipment from Llandrindod Wells was called upon to tackle an early morning blaze in Llanidloes.
The aerial appliance was called to China Street after a fire was reported in a second floor flat at 4.35am today (Monday).
Crews from both Llanidloes and Newtown also attended and used thermal imaging equipment to assist in their operation. One casualty was treated on the scene but there were no reports of serious injury.
A fire spokesperson said: “The salvage operation is under way and our teams eventually left the scene at 7.22am.”
Police have also been on the scene and the early indication is that the fire started in a log burner.
Also in Llanidloes, fire fighters attended a chimney fire at Oakley Park, Dolwen on Friday night.
