Two charged over Treowen incident

Two men have been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place following a disturbance at the Treowen housing estate in Newtown on Friday night.

They will appear before Welshpool Magistrates later today.

Two other men who had been arrested were released with no charge at this time, according to Newtown Police.

Police said two other men were injured in the incident, with one taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment. 

"Two males have been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. They will appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court this morning," said a police spokesperson.
