Tributes have been paid to one of Newtown's vocal campaigners on a range of community issues over the past twenty years.
Philip Glynn from Commercial Street in Newtown has passed away.
He was well known in the town for campaigning on issues affecting the community, including town centre trade, health, traffic and much more.
He also regularly raised money for local and other charities.
While he never stood for public office as a councillor or representative, he regularly spoke up for the issues that many people in the town were thinking and corresponded with MPs, AMs, councillors and the media.
More recently he was involved in the Newtown Health Forum but was still campaigning for more to be done about the town centre trade and was critical of the number of bookmakers in the town compared to other retailers.
The traffic issues in Newtown, including congestion, was another of his topics, raising valid issues about the current system.
More recently he questioned the way resurfacing work was undertaken on Cambrian Way, causing traffic congestion in the town centre as a result of the temporary one way system which also caused issues for parents taking children to Penygloddfa School.
He was also a regular contributor to local media, including MyNewtown, often writing emails about issues or highlighting problems.
Mr Glynn leaves a wife and four children.
