One local school has confirmed that continuing problems from the cold snap means it won’t be open to pupils all week.
Ysgol Rhiw-Bechan in Tregynon, was one of the first schools to suffer problems when the snow and big freeze struck and it will still not be open to children until next Monday at the earliest. Teachers will be expected to attend as usual.
A Powys County Council spokesperson confirmed that ongoing utility failure is the cause.
Ysgol Rhiw-Bechan teaches around 140 pupils aged between four and 11 who’s parents can choose whether they are taught in either Welsh or English from the age of six.
