Newtown commuters face road misery

31/12/2010 @ 08:21

Newtown commuters are facing up to two days of misery with the road to Shrewsbury set to close for 36 hours at Cefn Railway Bridge, Buttington.

The Welsh Assembly Government has announced that the bridge will close for essential repairs from 6pm on January 22 until 7am on January 24

Commuters face finding alternative routes as the road closes for maintenance and resurfacing at the accident blackspot.

The Government is advising a route to and from Shrewsbury via Oswestry though motorists are likely to find alternative routes on minor roads.

Cefn Bridge has been the scene of numerous accidents during 2010 but the closure will mean serious disruptions to many.
