Financial advisors in the Christmas spirit

Criticism that Newtown has lost its Christmas spirit due to the lack of classic ‘nativity’ decorations this year has not gone down well with one local businessman.
Financial Advisor Mal Hughes, from Graham Irons Financial Planning, reacted immediately to one letter in the local press from a well known Newtown resident which said the town had forgotten the Christmas message due to distinct absence of classic Christmas decorations in the town.
But Mr. Hughes believes that is just a case of ‘bah humbug’ and has decorated his Pool Road premise’s front window with a nativity scene to bring some Christmas cheer to customers.
“We’ve been doing it for eight years,” he said. “Whilst I agree with the letter’s observations, it was incorrect. We feel our business on Pool Road has been hit by the construction of Tesco and the lights problem. But it is Christmas and we want to get into the spirit of it so for children to feel the origins of Xmas, they are welcome to come and have a look in our window and maybe their parents can learn some tips on how to save for their future at the same time!”
