Thieves in £7,000 Llani tobacco haul

16/12/2010 @ 01:29

Raiders stole £7,000 worth of tobacco from a supermarket in Llanidloes yesterday (Wednesday), and smokers are being asked to help with the investigation.
Police believe the thieves will try to sell the tobacco locally and have urged residents to come forward if they are offered low cost cigarettes.
Chief Inspector Martin Tavener said: “With this amount of stock taken, it is plausible that there will be a variety of tobacco products available for sale at cheap prices. If you are approached, in pubs or on the street, please report the incident to police.”
If you have information please contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
