Hotel reopens after Environmental Health issue

Abermule residents have come in for praise from the proprietor of the Abermule Hotel which was closed following an Environmental Health inspection.

Barry Davies closed the premises on Friday after the routine check discovered mouse droppings on the premises, but he re-opened this morning, four years and a day after he originally took over the business.
“It has been quite some weekend but I am grateful to the tremendous backing of the people from the village who have rang, texted or called in to show their support which has been quite moving,” said Mr. Davies. “We caught three mice on the premises up to Friday morning and nothing since so we have reopened today with the blessing of the Environmental Health Department who visited this morning. They will continue to make checks in the coming days but we are confident that the issue is behind us.”
Abermule Football Club was forced to relocate its bingo evening at the eleventh hour last Friday and weekend meal bookings were cancelled. But Mr. Davies says it was now back to business as usual.
