Council calls for patience

03/12/2010 @ 09:45

Residents from the Newtown area are being urged by Powys County Council to be patient when trying to access services because of increased demand due to the weather.
The number of calls being received by the council has increased and responses may be delayed.
A spokesperson said: “Every effort is being made to collect rubbish and recycling from households across the county and the crews have been out every day but some collections have been disrupted. Residents are advised to put their rubbish and recycling out on their normal collection day and if it is not collected after two days then to take it in and put out again the following week.”
Information about road and school closures is published on the council’s website www.powys.gov.uk
