The public can meet officials from Powys County Council to discuss the changes to the recycling collections in Newtown and Llanidloes at special surgeries in the town.
Residents in Llanidloes and Newtown are being encouraged to visit drop-in surgeries next week (w/c 11 June) to ask any questions regarding the changes to their waste and recycling kerbside collections.
Powys County Council’s Waste Services team will be on hand to answer any queries and offer advice before the collections come into affect from 2 July, including information on assisted collections.
Examples of the new recycling containers, including the three recycling containers, wheeled bins and requestable food waste caddies, will also be on show at the surgeries, as well being on display at Newtown Library, Newtown Customer Service Point, Maldwyn Leisure Centre, Llanidloes Library and Customer Service Point and Llanidloes Sports Centre before the changes come into affect.
“These surgeries are a great opportunity for residents to get their questions answered first-hand,” said Steve Holdaway, Head of Local and Environmental Services at Powys County Council.
“They have been well attended elsewhere in the county and we are hopeful that people affected by the changes will come along and see for themselves how we are trying to improve our recycling rates.”
