Get learning with festival

Coleg Powys is urging residents to get involved in learning this week as part of Powys Learning Festival.

The college is running a series of events from tomorrow (Saturday) as part of Adult Learner's Week.

The first event is a Family Learning and Information day being be run in Welshpool Youth Centre from 10am to 1pm, offering a wide range of free taster sessions as well as a number ofinformation stands.

On Tuesday, 15th May there is an Emergency First Aid course being run in Welshpool via the Red Cross, and in Newtown in the Elephant and Castle Hotel there is a Health, Wellbeing & Creative Activities event taking place 11am and 3pm, again with a range of free taster sessions and information stands.

Later on Tuesday, Coleg Powys is holding an open evening from 4.30pm to 7pm when there will be free taster sessions available in massage, Indian head massage, eyebrow shaping, hair setting and a nail bar. The open evening will also highlight other activities available for potential students and others at the college.

On Thursday, 16th May there is a Food and Hygiene course taking place in Welshpool Youth Centre from 9am to 5pm.
