Newtown's Christmas celebrations get underway

Newtown's Kicking Off Christmas takes place today (Saturday) and includes the switching on of the festive lights.

The event is the start of a month of celebrations in the town.

The event starts at 4.30pm in the town centre with events and activities taking place in the Town Hall Grounds, including the official lights switch on at 6pm.

Attractions will include Father Christmas, live entertainment, hot and cold food, donkeys, an illuminated bike ride, an Elf Trail and more.
